Just got back from watching "Dark Shadows" with my husband. What a hoot!! It's a classic. The movie has so much humor, some scary, bloody, creepy stuff, wonderful sets and of course Depp was perfect, as was the entire cast. Phifer was amazing and Helena was so funny. I loved the 1972 flashback since that is the year I graduated. The rock music was great. What was surprising was the theaterfor the noon show was filled with seniors older than me! They would have been in their prime in the 70's and probably rocked out to the same music. I've always said Depp appeals to all ages, men and women. All that the movie was missing is the hot pants and knee boots. Guess Burton is too young to have remembered them. ha ha . This was a great vampire movie. A real vampire who kills people, against his will but he does kill people. The clips show only the funny parts and there are funny parts but this isn't a comedy; it has hatred, and angst, murder and the interesting feeling of seeing 1972 through the eyes of a 225 ++ year old Vampire who has been locked away for 200 years. Depp could convey so much with his expressive eyes and that lifted eye brow. There were some very funny parts and even my husband laughed out loud. I really thing that most of the people who put Depp and Burton down so badly are just jealous. I notice it's almost always men. Maybe their women like Depp a little too much? Hmmm?

I never watch any sitcoms, but I want it to hit Number 1 just to blow Charlie's doors off.
