The movie dragged a bit and failed to show the beauty of the remote iron range, leaving the audience to ponder why the hell any woman would stay and hack out a life among such men? The scene where they attempted to validate Woody Harellson as a hockey player was hilarious! Evidently some white people cant skate either! All in all its worth seeing!

This movie is filled with little details that aid in capturing the authenticity of the characters, their music, and the essence of the times. My aunt was a Johnny Cash fan, and I was flooded with memories of her doing housework while singing his songs, with the windows closed of course, so the neighbors wouldnt think she was a hot to trott hussy. I roared with laughter at the scene where Reese Witherspoon was confronted by the woman while shopping.
