This movie is NOT historically accurate!
However, the suggested love scene during the night together on the beach between Hartnett and Affleck was a nice touch. Love triangle, indeed!
Also, the Chinese didn't even have an Air Force in 1951, and instead fought somewhere in Asia at a place called Port Arthur where they defeated the Germans under Herr Howard Hess. Also, Timmy Doolittle was an animal Doctor, not a pilot. . And they didn't even have Blacks in this war until they attacked the Fort in "Glory."
