Who can dispute that the performances -- for better or worse -- are real? Or that the show creates a (inter)national stage where tremendously talented people can share their gift with America?
Despite the fact that the reality, performance based foundation remains the same, the four judge format has ruined the chemistry. My reaction borders on the ineffable; I just know the connection with the show is gone. If I had to attempt an answer, it’s not due to a lost interest in seeing incredibly talented people competing for their “moment in time” but the arrival of an annoying personality that reminds me of Janice Dickinson.
I guess all good things ends – it’s unfortunate in an effort to evolve, they selected to do that by focusing on the wrong side of the stage in terms of what makes American Idol real. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-1 of 1 Per Page |
