This is one of Neil's finest efforts, put out when all his contemporaries were in panic about the onset of punk rock. Neil is masterful in the acoustic beginings of this album, starting out starkly acoustic, and song by song, adding to the arrangements, then giving side two to Crazy Horse. An awesome listening experience, and one of my first CD purchases back in 1987. It's too hard to choose a favourite, as all tracks are excellent. Neil didn't even come close to producing something as good as this until releasing Freedom ten years later. Hey Neil, if you ever read these reviews, please re-release this one remixed like you did with 'On The Beach', with outtakes and alternate versions. It deserves it.

George appeared with this collection in 1979, around the time Ringo was dabbling in Disco, and Paul was releasing Back to the Egg. Many fine tunes on this CD including Blow Away, Sweet Dark Lady, Here Comes the Moon and Love Comes to Everyone. Also the 1st appearance of the legendary 'Not Guilty' originally a contender for the Beatles White Album. Some nice shimmering slide guitar and an appearance by Eric Clapton. George sounds confident, self assured and relaxed in these sessions.

This album appeared in 1982 with virtually no publicity or fanfare, but a vast improvement over Somewhere in England. It's true George's tastes in music took a different direction than many of his peers but if you are looking for a collection of songs that highlight his mastery of the slide guitar and happy light songs, this is the one for you. It seems George was out to undo his dour serious image of the last few albums. He sounded happy on this album, and resurrects a long lost Beatle tune in 'Circles'.
