I rented it because I had read a revue some months ago and it struck a chord with me. When I got out of High School I was going to hitchhike across America (I graduated in 1973) but never did and I really regret not doing so. This movie was touching, well acted, great storytelling, excellant soundtrack by Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder and expertly directed.
