The movie is HORRIBLE. It was obviously rushed into production and the adudience was actually laughing at the horrible flubs in it. It starts out OK, classic horror movie style. Then comes the boom mic.... and it alone destroys the entire film. Well this thing is in 90 percent of ALL talking scenes. Im not even joking... this mic shows up EVERYWHERE. Its pathetic. I dont understand why no one has commented on this horrible aspect of the movie in these reviews either. Did I get to watch the gag reel??
When it first appeared I thought...hmmm are there reporters in this scene or is that just a little flub? No... the camera pans back, no reporters in sight. Must have just been a mistake. I figured it was a small mistake. But then, it appears in the next scene, and the next scene, and the NEXT scene, and then in almost every single scene from that point on. At one point it almost HIT the actress head while shes sitting on the couch yelling at the nanny to take damien upstairs. It got so bad that you could tell the producers even tried cutting it out of some scenes. Suddenly this dark black fuzzy line appears at the top of the screen attempting to hide the mic. Unfortunatly even the black fuzzy line couldnt keep this thing out of the shot. It dips down below the line many many times. How do you take a horror movie seriously when the microphone is in all the shots??
Aside from the horrible rushed production the movie was OK. It wasnt all that scary. It had more of that something jumps out at you-surprises you scare factor. I admit I jumped once myself, but aside from that one jolt, the movie really didnt freak me out. It was lame. I would give it 1 star and thats being generous.
It was such a bad movie that it definitly ranks within my top 3 worst movies ever list. I almost walked out of this one. To be honest, by the end I wish I had walked out. Was this review helpful?
