Though all of the songs are awesome, the album title is misleading. Second, the track, Was this review helpful? This album focusses on mainstream themes, which is sorely disappointed. While songs like, Blown Away,, Gangsta Bop, The Rain, Shakedown, and Mama Africa are highlights, the rest is largely mainstream appeal. I admire his honesty on, I Want To Love You, though the song title is dishonest in his quest. I would suggest buying this if you are a Akon fan, but between the two, I would suggest the Trouble album. Was this review helpful? The lyrics are nice, after I read them. However, you need to be able to understand them. I can understand Dope and Slipknot quite clearly. Was this review helpful? However, most of the rappers talk about getting women and clubbing--this is really old. Plus, the only reason mainstream plays them is because of their beats. The Ying Yang twins are like most of the rappers in the mainstream game--talentless. What ever happened to lyrics about life? Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 7/18/2005A review of TP.3 Reloaded [Explicit] by malishiaman Okay, this album is better than the last 12 play album, tp2. Take it track by track of the third album.
Playas Only Feat the Game. Nice beat and lyrics, except for Game's which sounds like How We Do.
Happy Summertime. Nice dance track.
In The Kitchen. It's all right. The beat is nice, but the lyrics could be better.
Slow Wind. Nice vocals, lyrics, and beat production.
Put My T-shirt On. Makes him sound like a peeping tom, not sure I like this, but the beat is nice.
Remote Control. Okay.
Kickin It With Your Girlfriend. Nice track, lyrics, and beat.
Reggae Bump Bump feat. Elephant Man. Like this, though I don't like Elephant Man. You can understand Elephant Man's lyrics.
Touchin. I love this track. Her vocals are beautiful, and R. Kelly's are nice.
Girls Go Crazy. All right.
Sex Weed. Pretty and interesting. Love this.
Hit It Till the Morning. Take Do Or Die out of the track, otherwise nice.
Sex, Love is what we makin. Love this.
Trapped In the closet. Impressive.
Burn It Up. Awesome Reggaeton beat.
I like, overall, that R. Kelly had variety. He needs to place more love jams on his tp albums, though, and he should stop the peeping tom lyrics like Put My t-shirt on. Also, he uses his falseto too much. He's just coming out with that. Don't do falseto the first round unless you know how. It's risky. Was this review helpful? The albums listed under 2pac on Msn are not truly 2pac works. One can tell this by the beat production. When 2pac was alive, his beats carried an old school flavor, yet with a modern taste. The beats now are modern. Here are the albums I recommend you buy under 2pac. All of theese titles are works done when he was alive.
2pacalypse now
All Eyez On me
Strictly for My Niggaz
Me Against the World
The Seven Day Theory
2pac's Greatest Hits. Was this review helpful? I give this album 2.5 stars because the album is purely mainstream. Knowing R. Kelly and Jay-z, I expected this album to have a more hardcore but diverse subject matter. The matter rapped and sung about are money, cars, hoes, and taking home someone's girl. Put it this way, if someone threatened to take my girl home to ^!@$ her, I would kill him. Enough said. Get streetsmart, don't be stupid. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Posted: 6/29/2005A review of NB Ridaz.com by malishiaman Okay, I liked this album at first. There is no doubt that Mc Magic is a creative producer. That was not what made me give this album 2 stars. The lyrics were a letdown. I write music myself, and I can tell you that anyone can put those kind of rhymes on paper and call it hot. Anyone can write theese lyrics. Love songs are the hardest types of songs to write because creativity is the key to making any kind of song unique. I'll recommend Invasion, even though I haven't picked it up. I hear that Invasion is a better album. I think the Nastyboy Klick stuff is hot. This album was far too commercial for me, and I took it back. Not to say that there aren't some good tracks here. The star tracks are So Fly, Until I Die, Tu Eres, Sunshine, and that's it. Another downside of this album is that Cho and Lo appear too much. Was this review helpful? Lloyd's vocals, lyrics, and production are stylish. LLoyd wrote all of the songs, with one exception. This album has different moods, ranging from the party songs like Feeling You and Trance, some mellow songs like Take it Low, Caddillac Love, Feels So Right, and street songs like Hustler, My Life, and Yesterday. This album I recommend to anyone who likes R and B similar to that of R. Kelly. Even if you don't like R. Kelly, you might like this. This album is a must buy and you can consider it a classic. Now, after listening to it and comparing it with other R and B, I have to admit the cd was a letdown. However, download the first 6 tracks and number 10. Those are the good tracks. The lyrics do need some work, and Mario only wrote a few songs himself. He's also too comercial. Usher is the same way. He talks about #$%&ing bitches and either him cheating on his girl or his girl playing him. When are artists going to talk about either playing chicks, but not in a relationship, or love instead of chicks and spinners? Mario doesn't talk about cars on this, thank God. However, do download the first 6 and number 10.
Other R and B recommendations are the explicit version of Trouble by Akon. LLoyd's Southside might be a good one. I might buy that one. Was this review helpful? I thought it would be better than the Massacre--50 &*^*s and never had talent to begin with, but listening to it changed my impression. There are some weak tracks like Guns Talk, but there are also some standout tracks.
Caught Up made me have mixed feelings. Is Ja talking about pimping or love? He seems to intermix the two. That's not quite right.
New York is one standout track, along with Where I'm From.
I also have mixed feelings about Wonderful. Though it features my favorie R and B artist, R. Kelly and the atrocious Ashanti, the song mainly is leaning towards money is more than love.
R.u.l.e. is another weak track. Don't bother to listen to it.
Last Of The Mohicans is a fresh way to start the album, but the Intro wasn't needed.
Overall, it's a decent album. I will say this, though. Too many artists are trying to immitate 2pac and the Notorious B.i.g.. No one can replace them, just like Sean Paul can't replace Bob Marley. Move on, it's been about 10 years since he died. Stop making 2pac albums, new ones I mean, cause they aren't Pac's work. And, rap about stuff really going on. &*^* the money, cash, and hoes. If you are gonna rap hard, prove that you are hard. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 4/11/2005A review of Scorpion [Explicit Version] [Explicit] by malishiaman Okay, this album is something you should really pick up.
The intro is interesting, it has the rough ryders thing, but then Eve says, "y'all niggas think it's a @#$%ing game?"
Cowboy. Nice track, but very misnamed. She drops an acidic verse and the chorus is a jam to bang to.
Who's that Girl will get your attention by the beat. The lyrics here are awesome.
Let Me Blow Yo Mind. Awesome. This track is complete fire.
Three Way. Okay, but kind of corny.
You Got What You need. Proves a strong point-- females don't mess around when it comes to her boyfriend or husband playing her.
There is one track that I'm kind of disappointed in. Swiz doesn't come out strong, and the chorus is lame.
Gangsta Bitches. Bratt is annoying, but Trina and Eve shine on the track, but the chorus is weak.
That's What It is. Damn, Styles P really comes out thuggish and hard, I love it. His verse is raw. So is Eve's.
Scream Double R. Awesome track, Dmx comes to the point, but I've heard him spit harder verses.
Thugging In The Street. Wow!!!!!!! This track is fire! Jadakiss Eve Styles P and Drag really rip it up. Styles P even says something about castrating someone with plyers. Off the chain!
There is a Reggae track on here. I love Reggae. This one is fire. She sings this song. Her Jamaican thing is so sexy, I could get into bed with her and do you know what.
You Ain't Gettin None. Seductive! She has my mind racing!
Life Is So Hard. Awesome track. She gets to the point again. Fire!
The last track is a nice end to the album.
Overall, 15 of the tracks are fire. The Swiz wasn't, even though Eve dropped a solid verse. Pick this up! Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 3/14/2005A review of Grand Champ [Explicit] [Explicit] by malishiaman I have always admired Dmx because he is true to the game. He does have a soft side, like other hard rappers. Dmx always fills most songs with intensity. His lyrics are truthfull. The rest of his Rough Ryders crew are good too. On the song, "We're Back", Jadakiss could have come pu with a better verse, but Jada was still nice on the track. "Shot Down" featuring 50 Cent and Styles P, is an awesome murder track, and p says that he smells murder every time the wind blows. The beats and lyrics always match. If you like hardcore rap, or if you are a hardcore rapper like me, Dmmx is something to listen to. Eve is also good. Be warned, if you aren't into the really explicit rap, don't buy Dmx. However, my message to X is to keep the truth and keep it hard like always. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 3/12/2005A review of The Documentary [Explicit Version] [Explicit] by malishiaman Even though the Game is part of the G Unit, he raps for the west coast, and the G Unit's and Game's styles are different.
This album is awesome, ranging from tracks like, "West Side Story", where he describes his gangsta life, but also tracks like, "Like Father, Like Son", which is a track about the birth of his son. He has some gangsta tracks, but also has some love jams.
People have told me that this album #$%&ed, but that was after I bought the album, and I liked the samples Msn gave. I didn't like at first his talk of 2pac or the Notorious B.i.g., but he does this to show that he knows west coast.
This album, overall, is a smash and worth buying. Buy the collector's edition, it has a Dvd with it. Buy up, cause they are limited. Was this review helpful? Sign In 2 out of 2 users found this helpful Posted: 1/21/2005A review of The Slim Shady LP [Explicit] [Explicit] by malishiaman Eminem's first album, "The Slim Shady Lp", is a masterpiece.
To start off, his public service announcement was self explanitory.
Highlights include Guilty Conscience, Just Don't Give A #%*(, If The World Turns, Brain Damage, and Still Don't Give A #%*(.
This whole cd is hardcore, the hardest of his albums. The Marshall Mathers LP is also hard. His latest effort, Incore, has some good tracks, but not like this album.
If you are a hardcore rapper like me, or if you just are a listener, purchase it. Was this review helpful? Sign In |
