I was particularly touched by the scenes set in the Sudan, which made a brave attempt to tell the story of a genocide I have been campaigning against since before the film was released. The acting is brilliant, the love story between Justin and Tessa a beautiful journey of discovery and understanding, and the backdrop of poverty-stricken Africa juxtaposed with the meaningless bureaucracy of the West a fantastic observation of the current situation. Charlones camerawork captures the vibrancy and reality of African life, which is contrasted sharply against the desperate conditions, a true reflection of the strength of willpower alone in survival. The real strength of this film is in its ability to involve you emotionally (I sat and cried for twenty minutes as the credits rolled by). Ignore the reviews that rate this film poorly - they have been written by those who do not care about the world in which they live, and those who have no appreciation of true human emotion and beauty. Watch this film and be amazed by its superb portrayal of the world. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-1 of 1 Per Page |
