I know some people will find this hard to believe, but it scared my daughter. She has just turned 5 and we also went with my 7 year old son. He was not scared and thought it was funny, but she wanted to leave almost the whole way through. It was just too dark for her. We did stay to watch the whole movie, and at the end she said she liked it, but she kept her eyes closed for half of the movie.
