After a suceesful career with Destinys Child, Beyonce proved that she can do it alone. She came out with a bang and made her presence in the music industry hard not to notice. The album contain some memorable tracks like Crazy In Love, Naughty Girl, Baby Boy, Hip Hop Star, Be With You, and Dangerously In Love 2 but the album put to much dependence on slow ballads that were completely boring. Songs like Gift from Virgo and Signs were completely hideous and not worth listening to. On her sophomore album she should tone down the ballads and hippen up the mood.

This is an awesome debut album, the entire album is listenable although I do have to comment on Ciaras less than spectacular vocals.They seemed too studio enhanced, recent life performances make me believe that she may use studio vocal enhances. Taking this aside, its still a very good album

Rihanna has visibly grown both vocally and emotionally since her first record. Songs like S.O.S. and Break It Off provide awesome beats mixed with Caribbean flavor but she shines with her first slow ballad, Unfaithful. Unfaithful takes Rihanna to another place as a person as well as an artist. She is here to stay and she proves thats shes not a one hit wonder. Mad respect for Rihanna, representing Barbados.

Excellent album!!! One of the most influencial RB and Hip Hop Albums of all time. Respect for TLC, RIP Lisa Left-Eye Lopez, this is one of my favorite albums and looking forward for a possible reunion

Compared to debut albums from TLC and Spice Girls, this album falls short but still contains memorable songs like No, No, No Pt. 2 and With Me. Good effort but still not as good as their other albums.
