This movie is supernatural in nature and I loved it. I'm going to see it again today. It's really for married couples and those couples that need to be. It's an entertaining wake up call. We start off with the young star being infatuated with a female. His best friend says, Choose Bro's or Ho's. The young girl is called a whore. Message to young girls.
Secondly the mother tells the boy it's okay to masterb... by himself in his room. Message, you figure it out.
Then there is a highly suggestive scene at the end. Too seductive for kids.
And the S word. All three brought inappropriate laughs by the youth. I wouldn't take my kids. Adults only. Was this review helpful? Explanations for some of the insanity of the last one made some sense, it was thought provoking. Jack Sparrow was in character and awesome. Will was weak and Walt Disney would never have approved of the looking up the pantless outfit of Elizabeth or the other faldoral of her undressing for entry to a meeting. (They didnt show, but inferred) Unnecessary. That was unbecoming of the show and not funny. It was sexual harrassment of the women in the theatre and I wonder when Hollywood is going to stop it. Anyway, aside from those momentary insults to women, I liked it. Was this review helpful? Some of the lines in it were impactful, sure Spiderman like Superman has a cartoon quality silliness in spots, thats the nature of comic book figures. We went to a late showing getting out just before 100AM. I was shocked by the late night crowd reactions to the villians, as if those were the heros of half the crowd, in parts. Two guys to my left couldnt stop talking, and a man with a small child was behind, they kept talking and this was no movie for such a young one, the poor child got freaked out a few times, sad. Personally I thought this almost warranted an R for some disturbing scenes and the scairy characters. Age 15 at the youngest for this one. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful I loved the movie. Wish Nicolas Cage would have had a better hair do and had a girlfriend more his own age, but the premise was great. Prophets are back, this was a fun what if. Take a look at what Samuel knew ahead of time of Saul (and told him where to find his donkeys), and Jesus said to someone, I saw you there under the fig tree, before you came to me. Its not a preposterous premise. I heard the S word once. I hadnt even heard of the show, when my husband took me. Loved it. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful It took me quite a while to get my husband to take me to this one, but we both loved it. I laughed so hard I had to hold myself back to be sure I wasnt distracting. I felt slap happy, like you do when youve stayed up too late and anything someone says is funny. And it was funny! This one may not be politically correct and therefore only get 2 stars according to their litmus test, but laughter is a medicine and this one is potent. Personally I wouldnt take any kids because of the s word used right off the bat, etc. Let the kids see it on tv when the bad words are gone. Then theyll love it too. Was this review helpful? Its the movie Ive waited for most of my life. I hope there are more to come. I think its good for kids of all ages, with parental guidance. If the parents are unfamiliar with the Kingdom however, I would suggest they send their kids with those who are familiar with Kingdom living to provide guidance.
Also its good to finally have the truth out there about God not damning people to hell, after all, God didnt ram the apple down Adams throat... and one who saw beauty in the Provision definately had eyes to see.(Youll understand after you see it.) Coloring his hair black, etc it just didnt work. I would have liked to have seen more of Fonda, even on a cycle... The story was just badly written. So glad there was only one GDit by some person. Dont think there was other cussing. No sex. We saw innocent people dying, but the only compassionate Ohhhh! I heard nearby was at the death of an animal. Too bad, this could have been great with the right actors, story, and less gratuitous death. Someone else ought to do a better job, Id check it out. Was this review helpful? The actors were perfect, the humor was brilliant. Being a true story, it was told honorably. (could have done without the handful of s words-even if it was in a diaper...) Crystal clear gut-wrenching drama of the Common lives that we take for granted until the sacred is torn from our lives... And then what do we do? Play ball or check out, take a time out...stop living too. Was this review helpful? I was concerned that the promotional clips on this gave most of the good scenes away as some do. Nope. This one was good all the way through with a twist. No cussing, no bathroom humor. It was delghtful.
Fine for kids of all ages. Was this review helpful? So thankful for no love? scenes, I hate that crap. (Dont care to see them in bed after either) Just hang on at the beginning with the one couple meeting, it gets better. Its an endearing movie with a bit of a twist. Was this review helpful? So there was never a dull moment. No cussing thank goodness. No lessons learned. But I figured out the secret. No sex scenes. I liked it. Was this review helpful? Who is this gorgeous king anyway? This was such a romantic love story, such a sad true Jewish girls story. It was breath taking. I want to see a sequel if its possible. Who made this anyway? Was this review helpful? A must see. I loved it. See it before you take the kids so you can understand the premise and not come unglued, or take my word for it and know that the parts that seem not good for the kids, turn out to be just an illusion. But its really more of a date movie. Was this review helpful? Sign In 0 out of 0 users found this helpful Posted: 9/11/2006A review of The Wicker Man by mommy189 Nicolas Cage was very cute and funny. It had a twist. It was a little slow in the middle. I think they needed to educate us on what the wickerman was at the beginning. A sequel could be better. They certainly set it up for one. M Night Shamaylan should write the sequel and it could be better. But Im not sorry I saw it. I was just expecting Sci-fi which my husband loves (and I tolerate) , and I saw a mystery, which I like. He was disappointed. I thought it was entertaining. The gore I dont like and always turn away from, it warns you, but it wasnt that bad my husband says. No kids of course, maybe 18 year olds. Ending is shocking. Was this review helpful? Sign In |
