Even better than first! Villians are so very interesting to look at. del Toro certainly puts his own stamp on movies. Hellboy, Abe and Liz were wonderful together; the scene chemistry was definitely there. I am so hoping for a third:)

Posted: 7/13/2008A review of Hancock by MovieGirl01
Will Smith is great as Hancock and Jason Bateman is good as the PR guy trying to help him. I really loved the whole jail sequence. I laughed the most at that. Sure the ending felt too neat but it was a refreshing change of pace to the rest of the superhero type movies. Basically Will can do no wrong on scene; his scene presence is enough to compensate for most film flaws.

I laughed hysterically throughout most of the movie. Eddie Murphy was very good in this role as was the rest of his crewmates. The jokes and sightgags kept the movie moving at a brisk pace. I recommend it for a nice change of pace.

I laughed continously as did rest of theather. best comedy to come out in YEARS. So cute and so funny. I truly can not understand any one who thought it was awful...what do they think is funny? It makes me happy to be me as they must be so depressed that they can not laugh at a well written cartoon.

I really did not expect too much going into this movie as the first one was just ok. But i was totally entertained! I thought the acting had gotten much better and the storyline had a great mix of humor and action. The plot moved along swiftly and answered all questions. All in all I recommend this movie highly.

Posted: 3/25/2007A review of Eragon by JJanet01
This movie was NOWHERE NEAR AS BAD AS PEOPLE ARE SAYING! First, Ed Speelers is an attractive boy and a likable hero while Jeremy Irons was great as the older hero Braum. When he died I was sad. Then the dragons the CGI was not horrible I rather liked looking at Saphira and comparing her niceness to the other evil dragons. She did have a growl and she used it several times maybe some reviewers werent paying attention. Also, please dont compare this movie to the horrible Reign of Fire (that movie was 100x worse). The sets, costume design etc were lovely I have no idea what the reviewer is talking about. None. All in all, I am glad I took 2 14 year old boys to Eragon. 1 had read the book and 1 hadnt and both liked the movie well enough. Granted the 1 who read the book had some minor complaints but that happens no matter which book is turned into a movie. I, for one, actually liked this movie even though I am not a forgiving geek as the AMG reviewer said.

Posted: 3/11/2007A review of 300 by JJanet01
I wasnt thrilled about going to see this movie but my honey really was. So I went. WOW. I had enjoyed Braveheart as it was based on history and I had enjoyed Troy to a lesser extent. I hated to admit it to myself but by about half way through 300 had blown both of them away. It was the easily understood and accessible story and characters as well as the fine acting on everyones part which set it apart from just any sword flick. The background for Spartan society was set with out getting gory so it was easy to understand that the main character was not going to give in and be anyones servant. It was necessary for him to bring his 300 to war to ensure the rest of his people would be free. I agree with another poster who said the battle scenes will be copied for years to come. They are both beautiful and savage at once. Hard to describe. Go see this movie. I loved it. My favorite scene was when his wife dealt with the traitor .

Posted: 2/24/2007A review of Daredevil by JJanet01
The movie was good and dare I say Ben Afflecks best work. I do feel that Elektra stole the show! She was great and her acting seemed effortless. Bullseye was an excellent villian, quite exciting to watch. I do not know if they will ever make a DD2 but I would go see it.

Posted: 2/24/2007A review of Ghost Rider by JJanet01
I saw it with 14 yr old nephew and both loved it. Nicholas Cage did a great job as Johnny Blaze, he didnt over act the part. That is what I feel ruins many comic book movies actors and directors figure since it is a comic book it is OK to be over the top in acting. The special effects were great the ghost rider bike was way cool. The fight sequences were really well done. My only complaint was the ending song. They remade Ghost Rider in the Sky into a techno version which seemed strange since the movie felt like a hard rock type movie. Anyway small complaint all in all.

Posted: 2/24/2007A review of Borat by JJanet01
We loved it! Saw it with 14 yr old nephew and we laughed the entire time. I do believe it was the funniest movie of the year. I saw nothing offensive about it it seemed to me he was poking fun at how dumb his character was. The guy doesnt know how to use the bathroom LOL or the I make the sex with my mother in law joke which was priceless. So I just felt he was the butt of most of the jokes. This movie is one I want to see again.

Posted: 2/24/2007A review of Jackass: Number Two by JJanet01
OMG I dont know what else I can say...I have seen 1 and some CKYs but 2 was by far grosser. Fishhook through Steve-O cheek still has me creeped out. The kid next to me said man SteveO is going to kill himself..now if a kid is saying that then you know Steveo is just crazy. Dont get me wrong he is probably my favorite. The toughest dude there i dare say although Knoxville was taking some serious chances this time out. Do I want there to be a 3? No because I just dont know what they could possibly do to top this one and frankly I dont want to know!

Posted: 2/24/2007A review of Stranger Than Fiction by JJanet01
While I liked Will Ferrell in this role I did not care for Emma Thompson in hers. Will played his part with great sincerity and I feel he showed he definitely can handle dramatic roles as well as comedies. I hope there are more of both coming his way. As for Emma, I dont know if she was supposed to be unlikable but I felt she was. The assistant sent to help her (Queen Latifah a good actress) was far more compelling to me. In the end I feel that essentially Will carried most of the movie. Curoisity as to whether he lives or not was the factor that kept me watching .

Posted: 8/19/2006A review of Casino Royale by JJanet01
What I will never understand is why they fired Brosnan...he did want the job !How can they say Brosnan was getting too old when Connery wasnt young when they rehired him. All in all ,I notice a trend in Hollywood to have men of marginal looks getting super hot women and I really dislike it. Can we as women have something to look at too please? Until now we have had a James Bond who was usually good looking. Craig? Not attractive.

If you dont like M Nights movies ,why have you seen every one? I have noticed that it seems most peoples reviews have said his movies are all the same or all boring so it got me wondering , why go see another one of his movies if you havent liked one yet? also everyone complains they paid good money to see it and yet they dont like the mans work. hmm i guess they have nothing better to do ...I find this strange.

Posted: 12/26/2005A review of King Kong by JJanet01
This movie cements Peter Jacksons place as one of the best directors out there right now! The ape was both frightening and touching as a character. The acting was superb on all counts Naomi Watts was wonderful as Ann. Jackson took the time to develop many of the other characters and I found it very well done. The storyline and subplots (like would Jack end up with Ann) were very interesting. At no point in this 3 hour movie was I bored and no one left the theater when I saw it. Best part of all was the action sequences with all the fights between the humans and dinosaurs and Kong defending Ann against the dinosaurs. I was glad it lasted longer than 5 minutes like some films.
