In Australia, I think Ive heard one radio play of the single All About Us, and no mention on the commercial TV stations (advertising or video shows).
The music, as in 200km In the Wrong Lane, is upbeat, catchy, and sometimes unusual. There is nothing like the lyrical genius of Russian to English translation. It makes the lyrics out there but in a good way.
t.A.T.u are defined by their past faux-lesbian acts, videos and songs, and although the new album still reminisces on these themes (the ideal example being Loves Me Not), the major theme of the album is being accepted and being loved.
There is one Japanese track, Obezyanka-Nol (Monkey Zero). Listening to t.A.T.u in Russian is a completely different experience to listening in English, as it is the girls native tongue. Fans of Russian tracks will enjoy this.
The best song on the album, by my standards, is either Loves Me Not or Sacrifice.
This will defintely apease fans of t.A.T.u and European rockpop, but its not really mainstream stuff. I strongly encourage people to buy this album, its music of the 21st century. Was this review helpful? Sign In 1-1 of 1 Per Page |
