This is the most classic way to resurrect interest in a Sci-Fi Classic. I call it the Spielberg Syndrome. I was not only fascinated by the genere pre-history but the special effects and just plain fantastic scenes were way above the norm. The characters while very classic, provide the continuing glue, that puts this spectacular film altogether. I was literally totally mesmerized by the whole production.
