For as little advertising as this got, I wasn't expecting much. But DAMN! This is way better than any of the Transporter movies with Jason Statham. Gina Carano is a better actor and just as kick-ass. There is actual talent on screen here with Fassbender, Douglas, MacGregor, and Banderas. The fight scenes were great and you see Gina doing a lot of her own stunts. I'm not used to being pleasantly surprised. There's only two criticisms I have. 1 - the two guys Mallory is romantically involved with seem rather light-weight. You'd think she'd have better taste in men. 2 - Once you see this movie, you'll want to join a gym and never eat sugar again. Sigh.

You don't need people to tell you this movie is worth seeing. The IMAX 3D is worth the money. It doesn't feel like a slap-dash afterthought for the studio to make a few extra bucks. Alan Rickman tore my heart out and Daniel Radcliffe kept up with him beautifully. How anyone who's seen this movie and read the books not be moved is beyond me. The film series may have started off as chidlren's literature, but the storyline became more adult as the main trio grew up. I'm very happy with this final film and I will carry it around for a long time. It definitely feels like the end of an era.

I didn't see WALL-E as being preachy, but it is a little ironic that Disney is distributing a film that touches on consumption and non-stop marketing (BNL products everywhere). I was touched by the relationship of two robots (I do feel silly typing this.) Oh, and that short feature before the film starts with the magician and the hungry rabbit - I actually squealed from laughing so hard. Well worth the price of admission.

All the haters who panned the movie and RDJ as the lead before Iron Man even came out can s uck on it big time. Iron Man was awesome and one of the best films I've ever seen. Way to go, RDJ!

I can't remember the last movie where I was belly laughing, but I was watching this one. These three really nailed it. If you want silly fun that doesn't take itself so seriously, I highly recommend The Three Stooges.

Can you say Zombieland 2? You know there'll be a sequel I'm usually not into the horror genre, but when I saw the trailers for this, I just had to see it. Pretty frickin cool. I actually shrieked when the clown popped up from under the bathroom stall door.

I'll admit, my first thought when I saw previews for this was Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots, but this was really good and gave what I wanted in an action movie. Of course it's predictable to a point, but so what? I enjoyed the ride and my hubby kinda teared up at the end. Hugh was lookin good, per usual, and seemed credible enough as a boxer, and the kid was pretty good, too.

Posted: 11/27/2011A review of The Muppets by MyNameGoesHere1
I was expecting a cute little movie judging from previous Muppet features, but I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. It was truly sweet without being crude, although it came close with Piggy's attack on Jack Black (did I really have to see her on his face?). I'm sure the whole theater heard me cackling over Dave Grohl at the drum kit in the Muppet tribute group. I might have to buy this when it comes out on dvd.

Simply the best Star Trek movie ever made. I guess some old trekkies don't want to share and would rather have a box office dud than a movie people want to see. This is my favorite movie of the year so far. It brilliantly avoids the campiness of the tv show without being wooden. There's action, but it isn't the mindless action of Transformers. There's a purpose for it. Urban has Bones down pat - I never would have guessed he's Australian. Uhura and Spock in the turbolift - sweet, touching, and kinda hot. I could practically hear the shrieking of purists. You forget, Spock hasn't undergone the Pon Farr yet (or however it's spelled - it's been a long time). Pine's Kirk can take a beating, which is refreshing compared to other movies where the "good guys" never take a hit. He just never gives up. To quote William Shatner on Saturday Night Live, "Get a life!" It's science fiction. Just enjoy it.

You really should have to scan a ticket stub or something before leaving a review - some of these are suspect at best and couldn't possibly describe the movie I saw. Knight and Day was light, fun, full of action, and really very cute. You may not like TC as a person, but he delivers on screen and truly gives 100%. Cameron and Tom have an easy chemistry that feels believable and apparently did a lot of their own stunts. We're supposed to be reviewing the movie, not Tom's personal life and choices.

I love Jackie Earle Haley and wanted to like this movie. Dang it, I didn't. Jump scares are my least favorite scare tactic, but that's what you got a majority of the time when Freddie shows up. Dude can act, but there just wasn't much of a story to go with here. And the acting peaked with Jackie. Snoozeville for the rest of it. There was so much potential to make this great. Disappointed.

I've been waiting for this movie since I first saw the trailer, and it did not disappoint. It's definitely worth a second viewing as the first time, you're trying to get your bearings. What I love about it is that it doesn't violate it's own rules and there are no plot "holes". Everything happens for a reason. You do have to pay attention, so if you want mindless entertainment, go check out a Disney flick instead. Movies like this don't come along very often, so check it out - it deserves the big screen treatment. Personally, I love smart sci fi, action films and this delivered big time.

Holy Crow, Batman! This was dull. Even Machete, which was far from perfect, and supposed to look like a grindhouse slasher film, was more entertaining than this movie. Sorry George, if this many people are giving 1 and 2 stars, you've made a stinker. I wasn't particularly wild about Machete either, but it had a few good moments.

Posted: 1/30/2009A review of Paul Blart: Mall Cop by MyNameGoesHere1
I was in the mood for something silly. That's what this movie was, but I wouldn't call it outright funny, although there were some good moments. Kevin James excels with physical comedy, but I almost hated this character. He's an older, obese, obnoxious guy who saves and gets the young hottie. That's great in theory, but I wouldn't want to see that without clothes on.
