This had everything an action movie should have. Cool@ss action icons, a cause to bring them all together, and plenty of weapons. Fun, loud, crude, and testosterone soaked. The cameo with Arnold was epic. The hubby loved it even more than I did. Dolph still looks pretty good.

This is a movie aimed at 25 year olds, but I really enjoyed it. Michael Cera plays someone who discovers a spine. Scott Pilgram is a doosh at first, but does kinda grow up a bit through facing Ramona's exes. There's no deep message here, it's just fun and visually striking. You can tell a lot of effort went into making this quirky and original. I wasn't familiar with the manga, but my girls are so I guess I absorbed a little appreciation for the genre from them. Not everyone will let go, get it, and just enjoy the ride, but everyone has their own tastes. I wasn't disappointed.

Mixed feelings on this one. It wasn't terrible, but I saw the 2D version, so I can't speak to the 3D post production effects. I take issue with James Rocchi belittling the movie plot as little more than date rape. Mythology wasn't pretty, but that's what this movie is based on. Anyway, the acting wasn't the problem wth this movie. Sam Worthington was alright, but Mads Mikkelson, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Cunningham, Liam Neeson, Gemma Arterton, and Jason Flemyng were fantastic. What wasn't so great was that desert drift-wood creature with the blue eyes and the unbelievably silly Medusa. I think the earlier Clash had a better Medusa, and that was stop motion! Wasn't it supposed to be Hera that sends Perseus on his journey because of her jealousy of Danae? What was with the Stygian witches' prophecy that Perseus would fail in fighting the Kraken and die - was it a lie, a false prophecy, or a plot hole?

Didn't see the 3D version, but I think I will next. This was a very fun film with just the right amount of humor. I don't know what some professional film critics are looking for, but I enjoyed the story, the performances, and the visual effects. Chris Hemsworth is difficult to look at without blushing a little. I just wish the ending wasn't quite so open-ended, even though I know it's for the next movie in the Avengers setup. Well worth the ticket price.

Usually, I'm the one chuckling at my husband who tears up at Pixar movies. Dang it, Pixar - you got me! My daughter and I saw this together and the parallels between the story and our relationship were a little too close for comfort. I was crying at the end. Absolutely gorgeous, there are times the scenery looked photo real. The story was fantastic and the voice work was spot on.

Don't let the previews fool you into thinking this is a family movie. There's a bit of raunch, but if you can deal with that, LOTL isn't a complete waste of time. At first I thought the getting high scene was completely unnecessary, but think about it. Somebody was getting high back in the 70s when the tv show was on the air. Sid and Marty Krofft, who are both producers on the movie. It makes fun of the tv show, and there are some funny moments, but the only thing this has in common with the tv show is the name. Rick, Holly, and Will are completely different people. I found it oddly humorous that Leonard Nimoy was the voice of the Zarn.

Usually movie trailers give you the best bits of a movie, so from the trailer, I wasn't all that amped to see this. I'm so glad I did. Forget crunches for a killer ab workout - just go see this movie. I saw it on Saturday and I was in pain from laughing for 1 and a half hours. Crude but so effective.

This is a difficult movie to rate. I can't put my finger on it, but it felt like something was missing. The movie was good, though. Eddie Murphy seemed to dial it back a notch as Donkey and this version of Shrek was a bit more dramatic than we're used to getting. Worth seeing, and even paying full price for, but I don't know if it's worth sitting in a theater full of kids who didn't seem to have any supervision around.

Just saw the film for the second time, this time for the 3D. It was really well done. Just go see it - the premise is a bit silly but Benjamin Walker turns Abe Lincoln into an vampire slaying badass that has you cheering throughout.

Overall, this was a good movie and Daniel Craig kills it. but something didn't quite work for me. I was paying attention but I seem to have missed something right after when Bond meets up with Severine in the shower on the boat. Suddenly they were handcuffed and taken to a deserted island that looks like it was used for nuclear testing. Was her husband the implied fruit played by Bardem? Bond lets her get shot firing squad style, presumably in the head, and THEN swings into action. I know you need a body count in these movies but that one bothered me. Silva just seemed to be the flimsiest of Bond villains yet. but these are little things. I really did like the movie.

What some people call hype, I call word of mouth. Not everyone will enjoy a movie like this, but I simply loved it. The 'gimmick" could have grown tiresome, but I was drawn in within the first ten minutes and enjoyed every minute of it. What Jean Dujardin can do with just his eyes alone is more than most of the hunk-of-the-week types that Hollywood tries to prop up as action stars. Channing Tatum, Taylor Lautner, I'm looking at you two. The Artist had so much charm, I may go back for a second viewing while it's in the theater, but I will definitely be buying the dvd.

I'd been waiting for this movie for about a year, and as the release date came closer I started to fret that maybe this wasn't going to be so good after all, especially after reading some of the critics' reviews. Whew, I'm happy to say this one was worth the wait. I loved it, and I'm going back to see it again. The 3D is outstanding, although your eyes can't help but get used to it. Amazing visuals, fantastic acting, and enough of a story to keep things moving. A bit longer than I expected, but I feel like I got my money's worth.

One star?! Really? What movie was this critic watching? I'm not a Seth Rogen fan per se, but he was absolutely hysterical as the voice of B.O.B. I could not stop laughing. I don't care what big name is behind an animated movie (Reese Witherspoon, I'm talking to you, sweetie), as long as it can make me laugh, I'm all in. A good example is Rhino the hamster from Bolt. Not voiced by a huge name guy, but he steals every scene with that voice. Overall, this is a decent movie. I don't know what's wrong with people who have to look for things to complain about.

Seems like Mr. Rocchi was looking down his nose at this movie. No, it isn't Shakespeare, but it was entertaining and sweet. AnnaSophia Robb is quite the actress. It's a good movie to take the kids to without requiring a lobotomy for us parents.

I think Angelina does her best work in action films and she certainly shows it off in Salt. This was a solid action movie. Nowhere near as good as Inception, but still a movie that teases the audience and tries to keep you guessing. The ending is set up nicely for a sequel.
