I didn't see the 3D version, but I really enjoyed the movie without it. Chris Evans gives a great performance playing Steve Rogers. The movie plays on it's own silliness without mocking the source material, which is a commendable feat. I was wondering from the beginning how this could be tied into The Avengers when the setting is WWII (I'm not super-familiar with the comic book canon) - that was addressed well enough. Is there any chance Peggy might be a character in the next movie? I'm kinda bummed how the relationship was brought to an apparent end.

This was great popcorn fun. I don't care that it isn't realistic - it's not supposed to be a documentary on the military, it's more like a live-action cartoon. Two big flaws. 1) Rampage Jackson trying to handle some drama. I don't expect him to pull off Shakespeare, but I couldn't understand half of what the dude was saying when the sentence didn't end in "Fool!" and 2) Everybody talking over each other made it difficult to hear some of the dialogue. But overall, this was still a fun movie, and come on, if Liam Neeson is in it, it can't be terrible. I love Sharlto Copley as Murdock in this.

Wow! I wasn't sure what to expect with James Franco getting a majority of the pre-release attention, but I was very pleasantly surprised. John Lithgow was heart breaking and Andy Serkis was brilliant as Caesar. How this man isn't a bigger name in Hollywood, I don't know, but maybe that's a good thing. I'm seeing this again and I can't wait for the next one. The director/producers/actors got this one right.

I do! This is in my top three favorite movies of 2009. Painstakingly faithful to the book, except for the missing giant alien squid at the end. I think the film version hits it just right by taking it out. Rorschach is badass! The acting is phenomenal, my only quibble is with Malin Akerman. She's hit and miss. But overall, I loved this movie. I'll never be able to listen to Jimmi Hendrix' All Along the Watchtower without linking it to this film. If you haven't read the book, you'll be surprised by the too-human frailties of these masked heroes. The graphic novel is in the top 100 novels of all time for a reason, so spare us the argument that the movie has no plot because you can't keep up.

Ok, so this isn't Shakespeare. It's silly, strange, and campy, just as it was intended. Samuel L. Jackson had the best lines. Now, who are these idiots that demand their money back? Movies don't come with guarantees. You chose to watch a movie, then live iwth it.

I've seen the first two movies, so I wasn't expecting Oscar bait here. But I wasn't expecting a big ol' mess either. The performances were good and Milla really commits, but the story itself was the biggest flaw. I don't know why this movie needed to be made. It was just random stuff happening until the "ending", which is wide open for another movie. The beginning of this with clones of Alice fighting in the Umbrella Corp's bunker was pretty good, but it quickly went downhill. The best scene in this movie was Ali Larter's with the ax-wielding giant. There is just no cohesive story or thread that links this movie together, and I was really bored 30 minutes in. Don't even get me started on the poor use of 3D on this. Every once in a while it was good, but for about half the film, you couldn't tell you were watching 3D, unless a flaming torch was shoved forward in a frame. Sheesh.

This movie was better than I expected. I'm not sure why some professional reviewer is so thrilled with the dwarves in this movie. I couldn't hear half of what they were saying and the movie just kinda stops so I guess it's open ended for a sequel. But, there was real acting in this movie. Chris Hemsworth, Charlize Theron, and Kristin Stewart did a fantastic job.

Pixar knows how to tell a story. I was fine until the last ten minutes, and then the tears just started flowing. That's what I love about it. These are characters you actually care about, and they're voiced so perfectly, you can't help but be pulled in. It also helps that my own kiddo is off to college now. Even the short at the beginning of the movie (Day and Night) was surprisingly original and creative. If you're not moved by this, you either have issues or you have no soul. =-)

I gotta go with Glenn Kenny on this one. The whole premise just sat wrong with me. I wasn't trying to read too much into it, but apparently a kid can save a doomed relationship if I'm going for some deep moral here. Is everybody in the world smarter than these two who can't seem to figure out they're made for each other? It only takes the tragic death of new parents to bring them together.

I loved this movie and it lived up to the hype, despite the extreme overpromotion. Dr. Pepper, Burger King...enough already. Just don't read too much into the movie. It's not a criticque of our current military. (I'm an Air Force veteran and don't understand how people get so bent out of shape over fiction). Having said that, Robert Downey Jr. doesn't disappoint. I never once looked at my watch. Mickey Rourke was good, but he doesn't look anything like Whiplash in the comics. Even though there were multiple storylines going on, you'd have to be 5 to not be able to follow them. I wasn't so sure about Gwyneth in the first movie but she and RDJr made it work in this film. Stay through the end credits for the very last scene. Perfect movie, no, but darn good. You know RDJr is gonna give it the effort needed.

This was better than I expected it to be. I'm still haunted by Rosamund Pike's performance - you can actually feel her grief over losing her son. Strong cast and great story. This didn't feel campy like a lot of Bruce Willis vehicles. Not much else to say.

The hubby wanted to see this, but I wasn't so hot on it from the trailers. I'm glad he talked me into it because I LOVED it. I'm sure there'll be people reading way too much into it, but it was a great action thriller with just the right amount of gore. I was really impressed with Alice Braga (Beth). I laughed out loud with the guy in the lung costume needing to take a smoke break. The twist at the end was fantastic - I didn't see it coming. I'll agree that the fight in the hallway to get past the pink door was a bit much, but overall, there seemed to be a chemistry that worked with everyone on screen. Not everyone will like it, but I did. Side note: how can you fall asleep in a free movie, call it boring (if you were asleep, how would you know), and then say you want a refund?

I laughed, I cried. Not a lot of movies can make me do both. Gervais is funny without resorting to Monty Python antics. One of my favorite bits was the violinist playing Sabre Dance while Bertram is being chased by ghosts. Genius! I got goosebumps when Bertram started listening to the ghosts requests. This is in my top three movies of 2008.

I can only report that in the theater where I was watchg The Other Guys, the audience was rolling in their seats and laughing louder than the movie volume at times. There were some bits that fell a tad flat, like two super stud cops jumping off a 20 story building, just to hit the sidewalk. What?! But this was a great movie for Will Ferrell. Michael Keaton just about stole every scene he was in. From the trailer, I wasn't so sure about Mark Wahlberg, but he was really good. You could probably skip seeing this in the theater and wait for the rental, but I don't feel I wasted my money. By now, you should know if you want to see a Will Ferrell movie or not.

It's really refreshing to see Disney produce an animated film that feels Broadway-based. The music was lovely and the story was compelling. It pulled at my heart without being overly mushy. Donna Murphy is a force to be reckoned with - her voice and delivery are eerily good. You gotta admire a film that doesn't try to lure an audience by screaming about big celebrity names, although everyone involved did a fantastic job.
