What a wonderfully charming, funny and touching movie! Written by Ann Marcus of Mary Hartman fame, and directed by Nat Christian, this movie truly touched my heart. Marcus's script cleverly and skillfully interweaves comedy with a very dramatic sub-plot of a girl's fears of death. Christian directs with a confident hand and delivers a beautiful piece which made me laugh and tear up. Florence Henderson is refreshingly real as woman who dies and goes to Heaven, but must come back to keep a special date with her granddaughter. Allison Lange is a beautiful and talented actress who plays a "younger" Florence. Hpe to see more of her. Stephanie Patton is a knockout of an actress as the granddaughter. David Paetkau, Yaani King and Kathryn Gordon are all excellent. This is a family film which the adults will enjoy as much as the kids.

I think james Cameron did a wonderful job. He is perhaps an underrated director, yet I think he is one of Hollywood's better directors. This is one romantic movie that touches upon the elements of time. Leanordo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet made a great pair. And the music was haunting. Hats off to you, Mr. Cameron

Posted: 1/5/2009A review of Channels by ShowMeWhatYouGot1
Writer-Director-Actor Nat Christian created a fascinating movie about a man who has a hard time following his heart's mind over his brain's logic. Channels touched me in a very special way. Channels made me wonder about my time here and how much time we spend on the mundane. Channels made me open my eyes to taking advantage of special moments. And finally, Channels made me realize how we tend to fall into our conditioned ways of thinking. The movie stars Kim Oja who is quite the talented actress. Oja plays "Katherine", the lead character. She does it with charm, humor and sensitivity Christian plays the lead character named "Black." Christian is a powerful actor exuding both vulnerability and a contained power. He never goes for an easy shot, but always plays it truthful. Ed Asner comes across funny and serious. Talented John Kassir and Tayor Negron deliver excellent performances in supporting roles. And Joan Van Ark shows her soft side as well as a toughness as a TV boss. Music by Rossano Galante is soulful. The photography by Michael Hardwick, VFX by Duane Condor and Prodcution Design by Dolores Piazza all lend them selves to the production. Channels is a rare film that, well, makes you think. Even if you don't want to, it plays on you. It plays like a poem. And I love a good poem.
