Posted: 5/8/2008A review of Godzilla by lolarbiter
I remember seeing this movie in theatres when I was only six. Three times! True, I do believe that Roland did screw up quite a few things, but I love the design for Godzilla, however. Unfortunately, this movie has highly insulted those die-hard Godzilla fans. A giant iguana more realistic running around New York in search of a nest rather than a monster crushing buildings. Godzilla was about destroying cities and fighting monsters, Zilla (what Toho "renamed" this American Godzilla) is more...mental, you never know who to vote for, Zilla? or the army? The end was saddening as well kind of pathetic for what happens. I loved this movie for Zilla. But its a shame that it had a lot more potential that Roland destroyed. It was, however, ressurected as a very nice cartoon series a few months after the movie's release however.
