I mean, it reminded me greatly of the Scary Movie series, only with movies that werent necessarily scary, just big at the box office. While I DO admit it wasnt great in much of anything, it still made me laugh uncontrollably. The sheer stupidity of the entire film was enough to get me laughing. In a sense, it reminded me of Napolean Dynamite also, simply because that movie was quite stupid, but I still laughed. Then again, Im one who tends to laugh at a lot of things. Im just built that way, I guess...
Anyway, its a pretty good movie if you just need to laugh... a lot. Was this review helpful? It made me laugh so hard I had tears streaming down my face, yet it had a life lesson tied in. Its worth seeing, whether your ejust in it for the laughs, or if you really want to see a great movie.
Im glad they casted older comedians that we dont see as much anymore. I grew up with Tim Allen on Home Improvement, so I was glad to see him. John Travolta, now he was a childhood icon...for my mother. D Hes still got an amazing sense of humor, so he fit in well. Martin Lawrence was also a funny person in the movie. Im actually very glad they didnt select an all white cast. It gets kind of boring that way. William Macys character has to be my favorite. Hes probably the most innocent out of all of them, and thats what makes the humor he puts out genuine.
I was very pleased with this movie, Im glad Hollywood can still come out with movies that dont have to use sexual oriented humor to make it good. Was this review helpful? But, being the fantasy fiction guru I am, I did read the book.
My excitement for the movie was there. A bunch of my friends and I even created t-shirts just for the occassion. We were all very disappointed in the movie. It hardly followed the book at all. The movie went so out of order that it is IMPOSSIBLE to have a sequel.
Maybe its just that there were too many similarities between Eragon and LOTR, so it was made to look like it had no relation at all. I actually think it would have been a lot better if the elves would have looked like elves, the dwarves would have been dwarf sized, and it would have followed the book more, instead of mixing almost every event up.
