Their previous album had so many more better songs. This CD has a bunch of non-catchy anger-driven songs. It will appeal for those hardcore screamo or emo fans, but for the casual Finch listener, this is a letdown. Dont expect to find any songs nearly as good as What it is to Burn...there are a few good songs on here, while the rest are utterly dissapointing bland sounding songs with lyrics so complicated that most English teachers wouldnt know what half the words meant. The lyrics need to be severely analyzed in order to understand what hes trying to convey. And as I said before, very few of these songs have memorable hooks or riffs. Was this review helpful? Could they really back up these claims of being Extreme Power Metal? After listening to the first few seconds of the first song, I can safely say yes. Dragonforce delivers non-stop speed, energy, and anthemic tunes. Each member takes their instruments to a level beyond anything imagineable. The drums, keyboard, and guitars sound like theyre playing to break every world record. Each song is an anthem with some surprisingly catchy riffs and hooks. The speed is accompanied by something you can get stuck in your head. However, with as much playing talent they posess, they do lack in the lyrics department. Also, on the first few songs, you swear that you heard a song a few tracks back. Though a bit repetative, youll eventually begin to distinguish between the songs. Overlooking these facts, the singers voice matches with the over-the-top dual guitars. His voice carries and soars with the fast-paced songs. Overall, if you play electric guitar, you should hear this album. Was this review helpful? Its a crying shame he had to leave this world...but it makes the album all the more special. Pick it up if you like the laid back vibe of Hawaii, and the ukulele...and if you love the somewhere over the rainbow medley. Was this review helpful? This debut album from GNR combined ripping solos with catchy hooks and raw lyrics that told the listener that these guys had nothing to lose, and everything to gain. Though still developing as artists, GNR was definitely on their way to stardom with this album, and as the title suggests, this album will satiate your appetite for destruction.
