My eyes burn!Posted: 3/10/2008A review of 10,000 B.C. by MrAntiSocial16661 OK, there are very few things that I liked about the movie. In fact, I think the only one is that me and my friends watched it as a matinee(sp?), so there was no one in the room and we could make fun of it the whole time. Other than that, I thought some of the people did good acting, its just that their characters ^!@$ed.
But other than that, they tried to add too many elements into it(love story, selfless hero, ect.), and it helped to kill it. The fighting wasnt very good, and shouldnt have been rated R if you ask me. The story line got kind of boring after awhile.
So I can get over the historically inacurate stuff(I hate history anyways, it bores me), but it was snooz fest.
Oh, and jewontheloose, you look really hipocritical talking about Jesus, and then mentioning how your girlfriend gave you head. Nice try on being self rightios and cool at the same time though! And the reason they spoke english is because they didnt want to make a movie where you have to read what they say. Its like watching a martial arts movie. Generally they just dub it in english, it makes it easier for us. Was this review helpful? It was one of those movies that when you watch it, it isnt to great. But after a while, you want to watch it again(or at least it was for me).
But I think some of you hated it for the wrong reasons. Yes, the acting #^!@ed, the vampires were more of monster than vampires, and their could have been more action.
But their is a good reason for a few of the other things.
1: It kept skipping around the days. Thats because they only have 1-2 hours to make a movie spanning 30 days, dumbass! Cause as exiting as a 4 hour movie of mostly them sitting around sounds exciting, I think I would get bored. So they jumped to a day when something is happening (and yes, they jumped so far because they probably would stay in the same place so long). Its not rocket science.
2: the lack of a story line.... Their are vampires trying to kill people... what else do you want. Yeah, they could have flash backs and try to create some big, deap story line of what happened before the movie, but people are complaining about the story line they already have with the 2 people who love each other! They tried to focus on the vampires in the town.
3: I dont remember who it was, but some one said it doesnt tell you how they got their:It was by boat, I think it showed that at the very begining, if not close. The guy who warned them was walking away fro a huge ship that crashed.
4: The fact that the vampires didnt just go around destroying everything. Well, then the movie would be what, 45 minutes? They wanted suspence of them sitting in safety, and once they try to move, something usually happens. So yes, they should have learned their lesson and stayed put, but then their would have been even less action, and then you would have somplained about that even more.
5: Lack of gore... A horror movie doesnt need gore to be good.
So over all, it wasnt bad, but please, think before you post. Was this review helpful? Sign In 4 out of 5 users found this helpful Oh God...Posted: 2/18/2008A review of Jumper by MrAntiSocial16661 I really had high hopes for this one... I really did... Where did it go wrong?! Oh, wait, I think I should have asked "where did it NOT go wrong?" Yes, it did have some good things, such as not every one was a bad actor. Just... most of them. And the action sequences were not only kind of boring, but they were prety much the same thing over and over again. The jumpers jump around for a few minutes, then they diapear to someplace with a vehicle, and then they bring the vehicle back and try to hit the person. I think there was one real fight scene where they didnt do that some where.
But it doesnt stop there. Oh no, far from it.(WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!) The CGI needed some more work, they really didnt seem to go anywhere, the fact that his mom was one of the people trying to kill them was predictable(at least for me), the main character, who is supposed to be a good guy is a band robber.
Oh, and to top it off: Samual L Jackson... OK, yes, he used to be good, but so far, he has pretty much run into a $hit streak. Also, his acting really just isnt as good as it used to be. Now hes bland, and has the same expresion on his face throught the entire movie. So yes, the movie did have its moments, but over all, I wouldnt recomend you spend the $7.50 to go see it. Sign In 0 out of 1 users found this helpful Why did I watch it?Posted: 2/18/2008A review of The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep by MrAntiSocial16661 The senery was great, the cgi was... decent, and the basic story line(actually, there really wasnt much of a story line in it) was a good, if not over done, idea. But there were just so many problems.
Such as the fact that most of the acting was absolutly plane and absolutly boring. I think the best actors were the two kids(they were great), and the two cooks. And the two cooks werent even really important characters! But then there was the story line. Yes, it was there, but it never really did much. For the first 30 minutes, there is almost always something happening. Then you have another 30 where nothing happens. And then in the last 15 minutes they try to make it interesting again.
Now, yes, I am 18 and it wasnt made for my age group, but even looking at it from a kids point of view, I think that over all, I still would have dropped out. Was this review helpful? I do agree with Vile that they should have gotten some one other than Will Smith.
Not because hes black, but just because I dont like the characters he plays in his movies. But, the movie it self looks good, so I will give it a shot. Who knows, I might like him as this role.
But yes Vile, I think that you should rethink about what you said, because it did make you look racist, which, you probably are. So stop complaining because others use logic against you, when you cant even use proper english. And as a side note: Profanity is a crutch for the weak minded. Was this review helpful?
